What Time Will ‘Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal & Greed’ Be on Netflix?

If you’ve ever had the pleasure of watching Bob Ross churn out a beautiful landscape in under 30 minutes, you no doubt feel some affinity for the man.

The painter, who died in 1995 at the age of 52, is hard not to love on sight. He was relentlessly positive, encouraging, and kind on his how-to-paint PBS series, The Joy of Painting. There were no mistakes, only happy accidents, he used to say.

But a new Netflix documentary from director Joshua Rofé threatens to deliver a more sinister side of the story of Bob Ross. Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal & Greed recounts how Ross’s business partners, Annette and Walt Kowalski, ended up with all the profits and rights to the Ross name, rather than Ross’s son, Steve.

Though it is not the hit piece it hinted at being, it is still a fascinating documentary about the messy and somewhat tragic end of Ross’s life.
