Based on a variety of factors, PolicyLab, a think tank often relied on by the White House Coronavirus Task Force, has predicted that Baltimore, Chicago, and Boston will be the next major cities to fall victim to the Coronavirus.
“Time is running out as we move to the fall,” said Dr. David Rubin, the director of the PolicyLab, “We just don’t know when the match ignites.”
Experts generally agree that the transmission rate of the virus must remain below a value of 1. If a locally exceeds this rate, the proliferation rate of the virus will likely be exponential.
Dr. Rubin suggests that these cities follow the example set by Atlanta earlier during the pandemic. He believes that a joint effort between elected officials and prominent citizens to promote mask usage and social distancing will help these cities to avoid a disastrous Coronavirus flare-up in the near future.
